How to Sharpen a Knife with AnySharp

Open the Pack

AnySharp comes packaged in an easy to open blister pack.

The package will stand up on a shelf or hang on a hook. The blister pack is not sealed all around the edges, so you will not need to cut into the blister to get the sharpener out.

The back of the pack highlights the features of the AnySharp.

Ready to use
Inside the pack, you will find the AnySharp, and a small instruction sheet. There are no extra parts to be fitted, as the AnySharp comes fully assembled and ready to use.

The handle on the top of the unit should be up. If it is down, pull it up.

This handle is used to make the AnySharp stay in place on any flat surface whilst sharpening your knives or scissors.

Attach to a Flat Surface
It is important to note that the writing on the front of the AnySharp should be facing away from you when using it.

The AnySharp has a tracking groove for your knife on one side. As you finish each stroke when sharpening, the end of the knife catches on this tracking groove.

If you use the device the wrong way round, you could damage your work surface, or even yourself!

After placing your AnySharp on the surface you want it to be mounted to, hold it steady and move the handle down.

The suction PowerGrip will hold the AnySharp firmly in place.

Get Sharp!

Now that your AnySharp is attached to your surface the right way, you can start sharpening!

Just put your knife into the sharpening jaw, apply a little downward pressure (lightly), and pull the knife slowly towards you.

You are using the correct pressure if the action is smooth, and you get tiny metal filings coming off the knife, as shown here. If you get no filings at all, or the motion is jerky or sticky, adjust the pressure to suit.

The knife edge always faces away from you, and your hands are never near the cutting edge at any time.

There are other sharpeners that protect your hand from danger with a guard. However AnySharp's patented structure is designed to be totally safe, and consequently so there is no need for a guard.

It's even easier once you've seen someone else using it, so we have made a short video to demonstrate AnySharp working perfectly on knives, serrated blades and scissors.
